At least you got to feel warm about your own righteousness and indignant about other's lack of righteousness, all at no expense to yourself and very minimal effort. So some good has come out of it. ;-)

The point is he said we should do EVERYTHING we can to help, and then voted against it.

If he had said, 'fuck 'em' I could understand why he voted the way he did, but he didnt.

What if more of his constituents had emailed him, insisting he DOESN'T support bringing these 'kids' over to the UK?

Re: Tories Reject 3000 Child Refugees
Whats fucked me off is the lies that the MP's tell us to make us go away.

I sent my MP an email asking him to support allowing these kids over and he ended his email with "It is a complex issue but we must do all we can to protect these children from falling into danger including the sex trade."

He voted against it, not 'doing all he could do' and then sent me an email, not in his own words but a stock Tory reply that was 2 A4's of waffle about how 'we will support the Maritime and Royal Navy in the Aegean seas'

Fucking twat

There will never be a satisfactory answer for that one even though it keeps getting asked and virtually ignored.

These 3000 kids are already in Europe aren't they? They're better of in Italy France etc more room the climates better and the foods better. If I was a refugee I'd be demanding the south of France toot sweet!

Re: Tories Reject 3000 Child Refugees
The bit I don't understand is why it is assumed that this is Europe's problem when there lies, just to the south of Syria, a group of immensely wealthy and spacious Arabic-speaking muslim countries who could care for and house all of the Syrian refugees with a tiny fraction of their gargantuan oil wealth.

So far the Gulf Co-operation Council countries - Saudi, Bahrain, Dubai, Oman, Kuwait, etc - have taken precisely none of their arabic muslim brothers and sisters from Syria.

Re: Tories Reject 3000 Child Refugees
The bit I don't understand in all of this liberal argument is why are those fighting for right so disrespectful to Italy, Greece & France especially when they are the same people fighting to stay in the EU.

Why are those countries so bad that people couldn't be expected to live there and be looked after?

It's all coming across a little white British saviour superiority complex to me.

Infidel 8:54 Fri Apr 29
Re: Tories Reject 3000 Child Refugees
Of course we shouldn't house 3,000 children from Syria.

Once they are housed their parents, grandparents and siblings will be entitled to come. The 3,000 will become 15,000 overnight.

Using children as a Trojan Horse for the whole family to relocate to the UK is the oldest trick in the illegal immigration book. You have to be an idiot to fall for it.

The right thing to do is provide resources for the refugee camps in Turkey and Jordan to make them as comfortable as possible until it is safe for the Syrians to go home.

Relocating 20m Syrians into Europe is an abhorrent and stupid idea and should be resisted with every means possible.

Re: Tories Reject 3000 Child Refugees
About time. Abandoned by their parents now it's all our problem. Let them in and next thing their brothers, sisters mums dads cousins the whole lot will be allowed in. And they'll be 3000 more in a couple of months. Not only that how many died on the way. We should be discouraging, not encouraging them. It will only result in more deaths.
